My name is Johnny L. Tucker, and I am a minister of the gospel. In 2015 I had a major stroke. It affects the way I speak. Maybe you’re on my website because I gave you a card, one of over a thousand I have shared over the last few years. Let me tell you about my card.
The year was 1979. I was in the Ferguson Center on the campus of the University of Alabama, sitting on some stairs at break time. There were 5 or 6 guys sitting with me on the steps. When break time was over we proceeded to go out the door. A guy passed me a card as he walked by me. I looked at the card, put it in my pocket. But the card had an impact on me.
I was outside of Christ during that time. I had been baptized at St. John Baptist Church, but I was not walking with the Lord when he gave me the card. It said: “If we meet and you forget me, you have lost nothing but if you meet Jesus Christ and forget him, you have lost everything." The card I received over 40 years ago is the model for the card that I had printed for me. Now I give out a card much like the one given to me.
I would like to find the guy that gave me the card. He was a white man, I think maybe he had on a suit. I really can’t tell you what he looked like, but I still have the card.
That’s the way my card came into being. A card I received years ago impacted my life. Maybe my card will impact yours. Romans 10:9 says “…if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” If you forget me, that’s okay – but don’t forget about Jesus. Get to know Him, He’ll change your life, He will save you.
